Jaime Harrison is running to unseat Lindsey Graham in South Carolina. Harrison overcame many obstacles to move from a mobile home to Yale University and Georgetown Law School. In 2013, Harrison became the first African American to Chair the South Carolina Democratic Party and served until 2017. He also served as the Associate Chairman of the Democratic National Committee prior to announcing his candidacy for U.S. Senate. Harrison is running to keep rural hospitals open and to protect coverage for pre-existing conditions. Harrison resides in South Carolina with his wife Marie Boyd.
