Max is a Staten Islander and the first post-9/11 combat veteran to run for office in NYC history, having served as a Ranger Qualified Infantry Captain in the active duty Army and the Army National Guard. He deployed to Afghanistan and earned a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Combat Infantryman Badge. He is the former Chief of Staff for Brightpoint Health, where he helps deliver access to healthcare for citizens across New York City, including Staten Island and Brooklyn. Prior to that he worked for the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office as Director of Public Engagement. Max earned a B.A. from Wesleyan University and a M.S.C. from the London School of Economics.
