Teresa Leger Fernandez is running in New Mexico’s 3rd Congressional District. For over 20 years, Leger Fernandez has worked for over 20 years as a counsel for local tribes and their business entities while working with community leaders to support affordable housing. She spearheaded a lawsuit to protect voters from gerrymandering districts in 2001 and 2011. She also helped leveraging over $800 million in federal grants to build health clinics, small businesses, head start school programs, and infrastructure facilities. Leger Fernandez also served as a Commissioner for Las Acequias de Chupadero and defended local water resources from being obstructed by developers. Leger Fernandez received her bachelor’s and J.D. from Yale University.
