The buy, which includes Spanish broadcast, radio, and digital reservations for the month of September, is designed to appeal to the Latino population in Arizona (33%) that will help propel Ruben Gallego to victory as the first Latino to represent Arizona in the Senate. The statewide investment represents the first Spanish language reservations in the general election in this race and is the largest single independent expenditure in BOLD PAC’s 23 year history. “CHC BOLD PAC is so proud to stand with Ruben Gallego in his historic race for Senate in Arizona,” said BOLD PAC Member Rep. Salud Carbajal . “As the son of immigrants from Colombia and Mexico who grew up poor and took any job he could to help his family make ends meet, Ruben understands what Arizona families are going through. He turned to service, first as an infantryman in the Marine Corps and then as an elected official, because he wanted to give back to the country and communities that gave him so much. This investment is designed to help ensure that the Latino voters in Arizona who will make the difference in this race know that he’s the one who will never stop fighting for them.” The investment is part of the “Our Lucha” initiative, a multi-scope initiative launched in 2021 that puts BOLD PAC at the forefront of the fight for every Latino vote. ABOUT CHC BOLD PAC ENDORSED CANDIDATE RUBEN GALLEGO Ruben Gallego is the son of immigrants from Colombia and Mexico. Along with his three sisters, he was raised by a single mother in a small apartment on a secretary's salary and slept on the family’s living room floor, finally getting his own bed when he went away to college. Growing up poor, he took any job he could find — working at a pizza joint, construction sites, and a meat-packing plant — to help support his family. He earned a spot at Harvard University, where he again worked numerous odd jobs to pay his way through school. Ruben enlisted in the Marine Corps and deployed as an infantryman to Iraq, where his company saw some of the heaviest casualties of the war. After returning home, Ruben’s military service motivated him to seek public office and ensure that members of the military are never again sent into harm’s way without a plan for winning the fight and caring for those who serve when they return home. In Congress, Ruben has fought tirelessly for hardworking Arizona families, working to cut costs, support small businesses, and take care of our veterans. Because of his experience growing up paycheck to paycheck, he understands the unyielding squeeze too many Arizonans are feeling. That’s why he’s working to cut costs on everything from gas and groceries, to rent and health care costs. He has distinguished himself as a leading voice on national security issues as the highest-ranking Latino on the Armed Services Committee. Ruben lives in South Phoenix with his wife Sydney, son Michael, and young daughter Isla. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 22, 2024 Contact: Diana Castañeda Diana@chcboldpac.com Don Bacon's Big Cover Up: “He Quietly Deletes Anti-Abortion Endorsements From Website” Rolling Stone: “Bacon’s efforts to downplay his long-standing positions on abortion illustrate just how politically toxic GOP efforts to restrict women’s reproductive rights have become in the wake of the Supreme Court decision overruling Roe v. Wade — even in Nebraska.” “The section that disappeared from the site also enumerated Bacon’s perfect ratings from the anti-abortion organizations” On Bacon’s lie that he always defended the truth of the mother, Rolling Stone said “That is not true: The congressman has previously signed on as co-sponsor of the Life at Conception Act, not once but twice — in 2019 and 2021. The 2021 version declared that the right to life guaranteed by the Constitution “is vested in each human being … including the moment of fertilization, cloning, or other moment at which an individual member of the human species comes into being.” Washington, D.C. – It’s not surprising that, once again, MAGA extremist Don Bacon is attempting to cover up his extreme anti-abortion and anti-reproductive rights views in an election year when reproductive healthcare will be a key issue for voters nationwide.
