CHC BOLD PAC Endorses Tom Suozzi in the Special Election for New York's 3rd Congressional District


Washington D.C. -  Today CHC BOLD PAC is endorsing Tom Suozzi in the special election for New York's 3rd Congressional District. CHC BOLD PAC Chairwoman Linda Sánchez released the following statement on the endorsement: 


 “We’re thrilled to announce our support for Tom Suozzi in the special election for New York's 3rd Congressional District. His years of service prove that he is not afraid to stand up to Republican extremism and fight for all New Yorkers. Suozzi will put people before politics, work to expand access to affordable health care, increase jobs, and protect reproductive rights,” said CHC BOLD PAC Chairwoman Linda Sánchez. “New Yorkers won’t forget that Republicans protected George Santos after a long saga of lies that ended with his expulsion from Congress. Tom Suozzi is a dedicated public servant who will honestly serve and deliver real solutions for all working families in New York.”

TOM SUOZZI


Tom Suozzi is a first-generation American who grew up in Glen Cove. His mother was a nurse and his father an immigrant from Italy. He graduated from Chaminade High School, Boston College, and Fordham University School of Law. 


Tom's a devoted public servant, having been mayor of his hometown Glen Cove for eight years before serving as the County Executive for Nassau County for eight years. During his tenure as County Executive, Nassau’s crime rate reduced drastically and it was rated the safest community in the United States. 


In 2016, Tom was elected to Congress and continued his record of delivering real solutions for working families for six years. He helped negotiate the Infrastructure and Jobs Act, which invested billions of dollars to improve New York’s infrastructure. He also worked to bring federal funds back to Nassau and Queens and helped pass legislation to lower the cost of insulin and other prescription drugs. 


Tom and his wife Helene reside in Glen Cove. They have three children, Caroline, Joseph, and Michael.

 BOLD PAC is the campaign arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) and is dedicated to increasing diversity in the House and Senate by getting more Latinos and Latinas elected. TOM SUOZZI


Tom Suozzi es un estadounidense de primera generación que creció en Glen Cove. Su madre era enfermera y su padre un inmigrante de Italia. Tom fue el juez más joven jamás elegido en la historia del estado de Nueva York. Se graduó de Chaminade High School, Boston College y de la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Fordham.


Tom es un servidor público devoto, ya que fue alcalde de su ciudad natal, Glen Cove por ocho años, antes de desempeñarse como ejecutivo del condado de Nassau durante ocho años. Durante su mandato como ejecutivo del condado, la tasa de criminalidad de Nassau se redujo drásticamente y fue calificada por la comunidad más segura de los Estados Unidos.
