CHC BOLD PAC Launches $1.1 Million Statewide Ad Buy In Arizona Senate Race

The buy, which will help propel Ruben Gallego to a historic victory, is the first Spanish language reservation in the critical swing state in the general election

Washington, D.C. - Today, CHC BOLD PAC, the campaign arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, announced a $1.1 Million ad buy in the Arizona Senate race. The buy, which includes Spanish broadcast, radio, and digital reservations for the month of September, is designed to appeal to the Latino population in Arizona (33%) that will help propel Ruben Gallego to victory as the first Latino to represent Arizona in the Senate. The statewide investment represents the first Spanish language reservations in the general election in this race and is the largest single independent expenditure in BOLD PAC’s 23 year history.

“CHC BOLD PAC is so proud to stand with Ruben Gallego in his historic race for Senate in Arizona,” said BOLD PAC Member Rep. Salud Carbajal. “As the son of immigrants from Colombia and Mexico who grew up poor and took any job he could to help his family make ends meet, Ruben understands what Arizona families are going through. He turned to service, first as an infantryman in the Marine Corps and then as an elected official, because he wanted to give back to the country and communities that gave him so much. This investment is designed to help ensure that the Latino voters in Arizona who will make the difference in this race know that he’s the one who will never stop fighting for them.”

The investment is part of the
“Our Lucha” initiative, a multi-scope initiative launched in 2021 that puts BOLD PAC at the forefront of the fight for every Latino vote. It includes BOLD PAC’s Latino led efforts to educate our community ourselves on the issues that matter most and to combat misinformation, mobilize Latinos to make change, and persuade them to vote for Democrats. Previous phases of this effort include $6 million in direct investments in Latina and Latino campaigns ahead of the 2022 midterms which led to electing the largest Congressional Hispanic Caucus in history. Efforts also include an early 2024 grassroots initiative to educate and mobilize Latino voters in the critical battleground states of Arizona, Florida, and Texas and a YouTube Channel "Ya Tu Sabes," to combat disinformation and to educate and engage Latino voters in a culturally competent way.

ABOUT CHC BOLD PAC ENDORSED CANDIDATE RUBEN GALLEGO

Ruben Gallego is the son of immigrants from Colombia and Mexico. Along with his three sisters, he was raised by a single mother in a small apartment on a secretary's salary and slept on the family’s living room floor, finally getting his own bed when he went away to college.

Growing up poor, he took any job he could find — working at a pizza joint, construction sites, and a meat-packing plant — to help support his family. He earned a spot at Harvard University, where he again worked numerous odd jobs to pay his way through school.

Ruben enlisted in the Marine Corps and deployed as an infantryman to Iraq, where his company saw some of the heaviest casualties of the war. After returning home, Ruben’s military service motivated him to seek public office and ensure that members of the military are never again sent into harm’s way without a plan for winning the fight and caring for those who serve when they return home.

In Congress, Ruben has fought tirelessly for hardworking Arizona families, working to cut costs, support small businesses, and take care of our veterans. Because of his experience growing up paycheck to paycheck, he understands the unyielding squeeze too many Arizonans are feeling. That’s why he’s working to cut costs on everything from gas and groceries, to rent and health care costs. He has distinguished himself as a leading voice on national security issues as the highest-ranking Latino on the Armed Services Committee. Ruben lives in South Phoenix with his wife Sydney, son Michael, and young daughter Isla.

He was a giant in the fight for working families, environmental rights, and the Latino community — dedicating decades to public service and fiercely advocating for Arizona’s 7th Congressional District. As a longtime Member of the Natural Resources Committee, Raúl fought to protect our environment, public lands, and Indigenous communities, ensuring future generations could enjoy and benefit from them. His absence will be deeply felt in Congress and across our BOLD familia. Raúl was more than a public servant; he was a mentor, a proud Latino leader, and a champion for those who needed him most. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 05, 2025 Contact: Karla Rodriguez Karla@chcboldpac.com TRUMP’S FIRST MONTH HAS ONLY MADE LIFE MORE EXPENSIVE FOR AMERICANS WASHINGTON, D.C. – As President Trump delivered his first speech to a Joint Session of Congress, one fact is clear: his first month in office has done nothing to bring down costs for working families — in fact, he’s hurting their pocketbooks. Instead of fighting to lower prices at the grocery store, reduce the cost of prescription drugs, or lower the costs of housing, Trump has spent his time: Ignoring the spike in egg prices, with the national average hitting $5 in his first month back. Eggs shouldn’t be a luxury. Pressuring Republicans to pass a budget resolution that would cut $2 billion in federal Medicaid funds from each congressional district, gutting health care for 15.9 million Americans . Rolling back an executive order from the Biden administration to lower prescription drug prices to $2. Admitting—twice —that lowering costs and making life more affordable is not his top priority . “Donald Trump promised to help working Americans, but his first month back in the White House has been a disaster for their wallets,” said Chairwoman Linda Sánchez . “He’s proving once again that he’s only looking out for himself while Latino families foot the bill.
