RITCHIE TORRES

A CHANGE FOR NEW YORK

At 25, against all odds, Ritchie became the youngest elected official in New York City, and the first openly LGBTQ elected official from the Bronx. Today, Ritchie is fighting  for quality health care and housing, schools and jobs. Ritchie is passionate about protecting his district neighborhoods from gun violence and making the Bronx a safe, decent, affordable place to live. At the City Council, Ritchie stood out, and during his seven-year tenure he tenaciously tackled problems big and small for the Bronx and New York City. He passed over forty pieces of legislation, including legislation protecting the City’s affordable housing stock and tackling the city’s opioid epidemic. Ritchie chaired the Committee on Public Housing, and was a deputy majority leader. He believes together we can build a better Bronx, and an Affordable America.
