Chairwoman Linda Sánchez Rallies Voters in Arizona for Kamala Harris and Ruben Gallego
On the first weekend of early voting in Arizona, Sánchez Joins Reproductive Rights Tour and Latino Men’s Event in this Swing State

Washington, D.C. - This past weekend, on the start of early voting in Arizona, CHC BOLD PAC Chairwoman Linda Sánchez traveled to the state of Arizona to rally voters for Vice President Kamala Harris and Senate Candidate Ruben Gallego. She participated in multiple campaign events to promote support for working families and protect reproductive rights.

“As early voting begins, Arizonans have the power to define their future, and we need fighters like Ruben Gallego and Vice President Kamala Harris leading the way,” said Chairwoman Linda Sánchez. “Ruben Gallego will make history as Arizona’s first Latino Senator, and he’s ready to continue fighting for our community. From defending women’s rights to making housing affordable, he is the fearless leader Arizona needs in the Senate. Kamala Harris has been a relentless advocate for working families, and will fight for the change we need alongside Ruben Gallego. This election is critical, and it’s up to us to make sure our voices are heard to lead us to victory this November.”

Sánchez’s weekend in Arizona was marked by several key events that energized voters and highlighted the Democratic Party’s commitment to working families:

  • Carpenters GOTV Kick-Off for Gallego: CHC BOLD PAC Chairwoman Linda Sánchez, alongside Congresswoman Nanette Barragán, stood in solidarity with Arizona Senate candidate Ruben Gallego at the Carpenters GOTV Kick-Off. Ruben Gallego, whose campaign is critical to Democrats’ efforts to defend the Senate and one of BOLD PAC’s top pick-up opportunities this cycle, would make history as Arizona’s first Latino senator. The event highlighted how Democrats are standing with the labor movement and fighting for working families every step of the way.

  • Compas con Gallego: Following the Carpenters GOTV Kick-Off, CHC BOLD PAC Chairwoman Linda Sánchez, alongside Congresswoman Nanette Barragán, joined Ruben Gallego to continue to energize voters with a Compas Con Gallego event, part of his Juntos Con Gallego coalition, which focuses on engaging Latino men. Latino male leaders from across the state came together and hosted a pinstriping event with lowrider legend Efrain "Bugs" Gonzales. The event highlighted key issues that matter to Latino men and Arizona's Latino community.

  • Harris Campaign’s Reproductive Rights Tour: Finally, Chairwoman Sánchez participated in the Harris Campaign’s Reproductive Rights Tour, where she stood alongside First Lady Jill Biden, Bryan Cranston, Senator Mark Kelly, Governor Katie Hobbs, Ruben Gallego, Gabby Giffords, Kate Cox, and Sophia Bush, to double down on Democrats’ commitment to protect reproductive freedom. Together, they highlighted the critical stakes of the upcoming elections for the Latino community and emphasized the urgent need to defend reproductive rights.

ICYMI: NPR Highlights CHC BOLD PAC’s Efforts To Tap The Power Of Latinas to Help Democrats Win the Elections In this election cycle, where the Latino vote will be pivotal, NPR’s All Things Considered highlights BOLD PAC’s efforts to mobilize Latinas within their families In Case You Missed It: CHC BOLD PAC—the campaign arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus—was recently highlighted on NPR for leading Democrats’ Latina outreach strategy as we head into November where Latina voters will play a crucial role in determining whether Democrats reclaim the House and defend the White House and Senate. The feature emphasizes how BOLD PAC’s Latina’s Lead program is harnessing the power of Latina women by recognizing that they have a unique and powerful opportunity to influence their husbands, families, and communities. They will be critical for convincing others to vote for Kamala Harris. 🎧 Listen on All Things Considered NPR - Democrats hope to tap the power of Latinas to win over the men in their lives Claudia Grisales | October 24, 2024 Key excerpts: Now, Latino Democrats are trying to tap into the momentum they see with Latina women to reach Latino men. “[Latina women] have some sway and an ability to talk to some of their household members,” said California Congresswoman Linda Sanchez, chair of the campaign arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus , while campaigning for the group in Oregon last week. Sanchez’s group, known as BOLD PAC, is a political action committee aimed at electing more Latino lawmakers. The group aims to close some of the divide by targeting Latino men through the Latinas in their lives through a new campaign known as “Latinas lead.” Victoria McGroary, executive director of BOLD PAC, says while the majority of Latinos support Democrats, some polls show that support comes with a double-digit divide with Latinas ahead of Latino men. As some polls show a gap as high as 20 points, the group has pivoted in a new way. “Latina women really do present a unique opportunity to harness their power for the November elections,” said McGroary. Latino voters as a whole “are a key part of the Democratic coalition. They voted for Democrats in the midterms…2 to 1 over Republicans. But they are, in fact, a community that we really do need to persuade and mobilize. It's not a community we can take for granted.” In interviews with Democratic Latino congressional incumbents and challengers across the country, they agree with McGroary’s assessment. They told NPR that Latina voters are playing a huge factor in their districts and the Hispanic voting bloc will be crucial to closing tight margins across the country. In Omaha, Nebraska, Democrat Tony Vargas, who is challenging Republican Rep. Don Bacon for his swing district , says his campaign is focusing on Latinas as part of their strategy. It’s especially critical in districts that dictate winners along tight margins like Nebraska’s second congressional district. “We've been talking to young Latina voters in their households that are getting the rest of their parents and everybody else in their household… to get out and vote,” Vargas told NPR from his home district. Oregon Rep. Andrea Salinas, who is seeking a second term in another tight race, says understanding the dynamics between Hispanic men and women is key in campaigning. Her congressional district boasts the state’s largest share of Latinos. Sanchez says BOLD PAC says Latinas can help reach the men in their lives, some of whom have become supporters of former President Donald Trump’s bid for re-election. This Fall, BOLD PAC launched a more than $1 million dollar program to do just that in Arizona, the group’s largest investment in such a program in their 23-year history.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 28, 2024 Contact: Karla Rodriguez Karla@chcboldpac.com CHC BOLD PAC Chairwoman Linda Sánchez Condemns Trump Allies' Hateful Rhetoric Against Puerto Ricans, Latinos, and Migrants Washington D.C. - Today, CHC BOLD PAC Chairwoman Linda Sánchez issued a statement condemning the divisive and hateful rhetoric used by Trump allies against Puerto Ricans, Latinos, and migrant communities. “Donald Trump and the GOP have no shame in flaunting their hostility towards the Latino community. Last night, Trump and his allies stooped to open racism, slandering Puerto Rico as a ‘floating island of garbage’ and demeaning Latinos with vile stereotypes, saying they ‘love making babies’ and ‘come inside, just like they do to our country.’ Now, they claim they don’t support these comments despite amplifying them on their own national stage. Trump and his MAGA allies have always consistently shown what they think about Puerto Ricans and the broader Latino community. Let’s be clear: this is only the latest in their platform of racist comments, actions, and policies fueled by a deep-seated hatred for us,” said Chairwoman Linda Sánchez. "These disgraceful comments aren’t just words – they’re a direct attack on countless hard working Americans. Latinos contribute to our nation’s prosperity through hard work, resilience, and a vibrant culture. Trump’s relentless targeting makes his hatred explicit. His enablers gleefully cheer him on, but we won’t stand for this vile rhetoric that seeks to divide our communities and devalue our contributions.” ### CHC BOLD PAC, the campaign arm of the Hispanic Caucus, was founded in 2001 to increase Latino representation in Congress. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 9, 2024 Contact: Karla Rodriguez Karla@chcboldpac.com Chairwoman Linda Sánchez Rallies Voters in NE-02 for Kamala Harris and Tony Vargas On the eve of early voting in Nebraska, Sánchez Joins Reproductive Rights Tour and Labor Canvass Kickoff in this Swing District Washington, D.C. - This past weekend, on the eve of early voting in Nebraska, CHC BOLD PAC Chairwoman Linda Sánchez traveled to Nebraska’s second congressional district to rally voters for Kamala Harris and congressional candidate Tony Vargas. She took part in two campaign events to rally support for working families and protect reproductive rights. “As early voting kicks off, Nebraskans have the power to shape the future. Our choices in this election will define our rights, freedoms, and ability to provide for our families. Latinos will show up and vote for Vice President Kamala Harris and Tony Vargas, who will make history as the first Latino to represent Nebraska in Congress,” said Chairwoman Linda Sánchez . “Democrats like Kamala and Tony stand united in the fight for labor and reproductive justice, and we won’t back down.” NE-02 is critical for Democrats’ path to taking back the House. The Cook Political Report rates this district as a “Toss up”, one of only 15 races across the country in this category, demonstrating the strength of the Vargas campaign. But the significance of NE-02 stretches beyond the House, as this district has the potential to shape the Presidential election as well. Nebraska does not award electoral college votes statewide, but rather by congressional district. NE-02 holds a single electoral college vote, which President Biden won in 2020. Once again, NE-02 voters will have the chance to shape the future of both Congress and the White House. Sánchez’s weekend in Nebraska was marked by two key events that energized voters and highlighted the Democratic Party’s commitment to families in the Midwest: IBEW Labor Canvass Kickoff with Tony Vargas: As the first woman IBEW member elected to Congress, Chairwoman Sánchez stood alongside Nebraska congressional candidate Tony Vargas , one of BOLD PAC’s endorsed candidates and a top pick-up opportunity for House Democrats this cycle. If elected, Vargas will be the first Latino to represent Nebraska in Congress . This event highlighted Democrats’ commitment to the labor movement and the fight for working-class families.
