BOLD PAC on ROE Decision: “Democrats Will Not Let This Stand”
Washington, D.C. - Today, the Republican-controlled Supreme Court issued a majority opinion in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case that eliminates the constitutional right to abortion established nearly 50 years ago in Roe v. Wade. Members of the CHC BOLD PAC reacted to the decision, highlighting the need to elect more Democrats to protect a woman’s right to choose and other fundamental liberties that may now be in jeopardy.
“Overturning Roe sets back reproductive rights and opens the door to limits on so many other freedoms. Electing more pro-choice Members of Congress is now a patriotic duty, and we will redouble our efforts so that we can have the votes to codify Roe. Democrats will not let this stand.” said CHC BOLD PAC Chairman Ruben Gallego.
Women of color already have lower rates of access to health care. The Supreme Court’s decision will further jeopardize the health and safety of women of color while undermining people’s fundamental right to make decisions about their bodies and the future of their families.
“With this devastating opinion, five members of the Supreme Court have concluded that women do not have the right to personal autonomy. The Supreme Court has today abandoned our core value of liberty. This decision will deeply harm those who are most vulnerable, including women experiencing poverty, and Black and Latino women most acutely. Our liberty as women is now on the ballot in November,” added CHC BOLD PAC Board Member Congresswoman Norma Torres (CA-35).
House Democrats passed the Women’s Health Protection Act which would codify Roe v. Wade into law. Yet,
every single House Republican voted against it, going against the more than
60% of Americans who agree that abortion should be legal. Five extremists on the bench ruled otherwise. We need to elect more pro-choice Democrats who represent our values and will vote to protect the rights that many generations have ardently fought for.

Washington, D.C. – Hoy, el Tribunal Supremo controlado por los republicanos emitió una opinión mayoritaria en el caso de Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization que elimina el derecho constitucional al aborto establecido hace casi 50 años en Roe v. Wade. Los miembros de CHC BOLD PAC reaccionaron a la decisión, resaltando la necesidad de elegir a más demócratas para proteger el derecho de la mujer a elegir y otras libertades fundamentales que ahora pueden estar en peligro.
“Revocar a Roe es un retroceso para los derechos reproductivos y abre la puerta a limitar varias otras libertades.
