Washington, D.C. — In addition to honoring our commitment to support Latino congressional candidates and bringing Latino representation to Congress, CHC BOLD PAC, the campaign arm of the Hispanic Caucus, also protected the Democratic House majority.
In the 2020 cycle, BOLD PAC endorsed and contributed to 117 candidates across the country including 36 Frontline Members and 28 Red to Blue candidates in competitive districts across the country. Nearly 60% of BOLD’s endorsements were women and 1 in 3 was a person of color. While some races are still waiting to be called, our efforts helped re-elect and elect 45 Members.
“While our primary mandate at BOLD PAC has always been to help elect more Latinos to Congress, we understood the shared responsibility we had as Democrats to defend our Democratic House majority -- one we fought so hard for in 2018,” said CHC BOLD PAC Chairman Tony Cárdenas.
“Our Democratic House majority allowed our party to be a check on President Trump’s attempts to undermine our democracy and his constant attacks and threats to take health care away from millions of Americans. In the middle of a global pandemic, our Democratic majority fought to provide COVID relief directly to small businesses, local hospitals, American workers, and local governments when they needed it most. BOLD PAC is proud to have played a role in protecting our Democratic majority in the House by having helped elect 45 House incumbents and new Members across the country, a victory that ensures we continue our work on behalf of the American people alongside the Biden-Harris Administration.”
